06.18.2019 - Atlas Obscura - Plantasia at Brooklyn Botanic Gardens

On June 18th Moore PA Hire provide audiovisual design & support for a co-production between Altas Obscura, Sacred Bones records for "Plantasia - an evening listening experience in the Conservatory with music and art created by and for plants" and hosted by Brooklyn Botanic Gardens.

For video, we began with Roland VR 50HD. We sent outputs from there to a Samsung 82" 4K HDR screen and and also the venue projector. Inputs were from a Macbook Pro 15" serving client provided content, as well as a feed from RED camera that was used by Biophilic technology designer Mileece

For audio, we provided a system for the main space ("The Well") as well as speakers in the three conservatories that branch off the from The Well. We began with (1) Yamaha QL-1 and (2) Yamaha Rio 1608. We set up (1) Technics 1200 MK2 turntables and (1) DJM 900 Nexus 4 channel mixer. For microphones we rigged up (1) Shure UR4D paired with (1) Shure UR1 and DPA4088 microphones, as well as (1) Shure UR2. For speakers in The Well we provided (6) L'Acoustics 112p and (2) L'Acoustics SB15p.
For the conservatories, the feed started with one of the above Yamaha Rio 1608. We provided (10) L'Acoustics 112p and (1) 3 KW generator to power them all evening.

For lighting, we started GrandMA on PC paired with (1) MA Command Wing and running off (1) Intel NUC. The system was supported by (1) HP Elite Display 23" touchscreen monitor and (1) Elation Opto Branch DMX distributor and we were to set up the lights. We provided (8) ETC Lustr Series 2, all on Impact Turtle Base C-Stands.
