02.07.24 - Shisiedo Talks Podcast - Shoot & Edit

Moore PA Hire headed to Glasshouse Chelsea to provide audio and video equipment and services for a live event for Shisiedo.  Let's start!

For audio, we used one of our Shure ULXD4Q-50 to provide us with 4 digital audio wireless channels for (4) DPA 4088 Headworn mics.  We also recorded all audio using our multi-tracking for our post production editing services. This one hour long event with four DPA tracks and one full stereo mix provided by the in-house mixer. This recording required editing out a great number of plosives and nasal breaths, lavalier rustles, mouth smacks, esses, hums, and ringing frequencies, and cut/gated throughout (the post version of using a Dugan auto-mixer), as well as EQ'd each speaker to enhance the  recorded DPA's and the Midas32 stereo mix. Once this process was complete, we then removed the background noise and leveled the audio. Repairing the audio was more complex due to the bleed of the PA and mixing it was comparable to a full workday. We made extensive use of multiple software packages and multiple plugins not limited to but including the following:

ProToolsIzotope Everything - Complete collection of renowned Izotope audio plugins
RX 10 Advanced - Award-winning post-production Tool for audio repair
Neutron 4 and Ozone 11 - Dialogue improvement and mixing/mastering
Reso - AI-powered dynamic-EQ assistant, aimed at the quick removal of resonant frequencies
Altiverb - Leading convolution reverb, useful for placing speakers using lavaliers back into a 3D environment (such as in a film/narrative setting, or when mixing a close mic'd source in with a roomier mix).

For video our Production Bot Switch 8 & (3) birddog PTZ cameras flown from the Grid made for a fantastic video capture.
