07.20.23 - 07.22.23 - Great South Bay Music Festival

The Moore PA Hire team headed to Patchogue, Long Island for the four-day music festival, Great South Bay Music Festival, to provide video and internet equipment and services for a fantastic celebration of music!  Let's rock!

For internet, we used (1) pair of Ubiquti Air Fiber 60s to tap into the parks existing internet access 2000ft away from the center of the festival site.  We installed our LSE-3 rack in the center of the festival to serve as our network hub.  We then used (4) pairs of Ubiquti Air Fiber 60s to distribute the Internet to 4 outposts around the festival site to handle ticket sales, food and beverage sales, and VIP WiFi access.  At each outpost, we provided (1) GL.iNet router and (1) Ubiquti 5-port PoE switch, along with all necessary cables and adapters.  Throughout the event, we monitored and managed the health of the network ensuring effortless point of sale and festival site-wide communication.

Let's dive into the video equipment and services we provided!  We began with two production racks in the BOH trailer, the LSE-1 and the LSE-2.  Let's began with our premier livestream recording production rack, the LSE-1.  The rack consists of (1) vMix Pro server, (1) Blackmagic Design 12x12 Cleanswitch, (1) Netgear M4250 switch for high-bandwith connectivity, and a fully managed Ubiquti networking setup.  Feeding the LSE-1 was (4) Birddog PTZ cameras, (3) were located at FOH using a crank up stand and (1) was hung from a struss section of the stage and (1) drone camera provided by a drone operator.  Also feeding the rack was (1) Yamaha QL1 and (1) Yamaha RIO 1608D.  This was used to capture a recording of the live music, with a direct line of audio from FOH.

For LSE-2, we used this production rack to feed the LED walls with Resolume Arena 7.  Firstly, we built three custom VMX p2.6 LED walls to fit the dimensions of the main stage.  We built two identical LED walls that were (3) columns x (6) rows.  These walls served as our stage left and right banners.  For our top banner, we built a wall that was (10) panels x (2) panels.  These walls were fed using (3) Novastar VX1000 and (3) Decimator MD-HX from LSE-2.  Additionally, we took the camera feeds from LSE-1 and patched them into LSE-2 to access all camera footage into Resolume Arena.

Our LED walls provided an opportunity to create custom visuals for each artist/band and also provide an excellent opportunity for festival branding.  In-between acts, we were able to interchange the festivals top sponsorships logos every few minutes to highlight brand sponsorships.  Additionally, we provided IMAG of artists/bands and put drone footage on the screens of the beautiful scenery and arial views of the festival.

The BOH trailer featured an 82" TV display of all camera footage, as well as LES-1, LSE-2, the QL1, (2) 24" monitors for camera operators and served as our central hub for communication.
