07.20.23 - 07.22.23 - Great South Bay Music Festival

The Moore PA Hire team headed to Patchogue, Long Island for the four-day music festival, Great South Bay Music Festival, to provide video and internet equipment and services for a fantastic celebration of music!  Let's rock!

For internet, we used (1) pair of Ubiquti Air Fiber 60s to tap into the parks existing internet access 2000ft away from the center of the festival site.  We installed our LSE-3 rack in the center of the festival to serve as our network hub.  We then used (4) pairs of Ubiquti Air Fiber 60s to distribute the Internet to 4 outposts around the festival site to handle ticket sales, food and beverage sales, and VIP WiFi access.  At each outpost, we provided (1) GL.iNet router and (1) Ubiquti 5-port PoE switch, along with all necessary cables and adapters.  Throughout the event, we monitored and managed the health of the network ensuring effortless point of sale and festival site-wide communication.

Let's dive into the video equipment and services we provided!  We began with two production racks in the BOH trailer, the LSE-1 and the LSE-2.  Let's began with our premier livestream recording production rack, the LSE-1.  The rack consists of (1) vMix Pro server, (1) Blackmagic Design 12x12 Cleanswitch, (1) Netgear M4250 switch for high-bandwith connectivity, and a fully managed Ubiquti networking setup.  Feeding the LSE-1 was (4) Birddog PTZ cameras, (3) were located at FOH using a crank up stand and (1) was hung from a struss section of the stage and (1) drone camera provided by a drone operator.  Also feeding the rack was (1) Yamaha QL1 and (1) Yamaha RIO 1608D.  This was used to capture a recording of the live music, with a direct line of audio from FOH.

For LSE-2, we used this production rack to feed the LED walls with Resolume Arena 7.  Firstly, we built three custom VMX p2.6 LED walls to fit the dimensions of the main stage.  We built two identical LED walls that were (3) columns x (6) rows.  These walls served as our stage left and right banners.  For our top banner, we built a wall that was (10) panels x (2) panels.  These walls were fed using (3) Novastar VX1000 and (3) Decimator MD-HX from LSE-2.  Additionally, we took the camera feeds from LSE-1 and patched them into LSE-2 to access all camera footage into Resolume Arena.

Our LED walls provided an opportunity to create custom visuals for each artist/band and also provide an excellent opportunity for festival branding.  In-between acts, we were able to interchange the festivals top sponsorships logos every few minutes to highlight brand sponsorships.  Additionally, we provided IMAG of artists/bands and put drone footage on the screens of the beautiful scenery and arial views of the festival.

The BOH trailer featured an 82" TV display of all camera footage, as well as LES-1, LSE-2, the QL1, (2) 24" monitors for camera operators and served as our central hub for communication.

10.22.19 - Pandora @ The Bowery Hotel

On October 22nd Moore P.A. Hire provided audio and video equipment and services for a Pandora "Turn it up" presentation at the Bowery Hotel.

We engineered two AV packages - one for the formal presentations and panel discussion in the main event space and the second for the music performance by Allen Stone in the Fireplace room.

For presentation audio, we used our (1) Yamaha QL-1 to control 8 channels of wireless Shure UR4D with a combination of Shure UR-1 with either Countryman E6-D or DPA 4088 head-worn mics and also some UR2 handheld mics, depending on the presenters' preference. We streamed pre and post-event music (obviously from Pandora)

For the audio aspect of the Allen Stone performance we provided (4) L'Acoustics 112p with control by our Yamaha QL-5, and for the lighting aspect we used our MA on PC set-up to control (4) of our Chauvet Professional Rogue R2 moving head LED fixture combined with our ETC LUSTR Series 2 LED Fixtures which we used for both a stage wash and GoBo projection

For the video portion of our (1) Roland VR50 HD controlled the two Macbook Pro's we provided to serve the clients' PowerPoint to both our Stumpfl projection screen w/ delay 70" LCD screen & also presenter notes to a 70" Confidence monitor strategically positioned throughout the room so as to not obscure the clients branding and our uplighting of same. Once these were cabled up with SDI our final task for video was interfacing to the house's projector and projection screen. We ran our feed though a Decimator MD-HX just for safety and then plugged into the HDMI port on the east wall of the venue.

Finally for staging, we built two stages, again for when the room would be split. We laid our 8' x 4' & 6' x 4' sections to build two stages both skirted with duvatene. Our Cherry Wood Pedestal podium rounded out the staging portion of our package.

07.11.2019 - Exponent Women at SECOND.

On July 11th Moore PA Hire loaded in to SECOND to provide audio and video equipment and services for the Exponent Women Conference. Let's jump in to our set up.
We engineered two AV packages that could be either operated independently or linked together. The reason for this was that in the morning the full event space would be used for the keynote address of the conference, but then at lunch an air-wall would be rolled out to split the event space in two for simultaneous panels in the afternoon.

For audio, we started with (1) Yamaha QL-1 and (1) Yamaha QL-5, each with their own Yamaha Rio 1608D. For microphones we provided 11 channels of wireless via (7) decks of Shure UR4D, paired with combination of Shure UR-1 & Countryman E6-Ds, DPA 4088, DPA D-Fine, and UR2 handheld mics. We also provided (1) Shure MX-418 podium microphone and a couple PCDIs for some house music. For speakers we provided (8) L'Acoustics 112p and (4) L'acoustics 108p for a combination of front of house, delay speakers, front fill and monitors. We laid all this out and then cabled them up with all the XLR and edison necessary and then jumped onto the video side.

For video, we started with (1) Production Bot Switch 8 and (1) Roland VR50 HD. We loaded up a stack of PowerPoints, images, and slideshows (all provided by the client) and we were ready for any eventuality. For screens we used (2) Sharp Aquos 80" displays. We placed one at each end of the room so each section would have a display when the airwall flew in.
