8/5/16 New York Athletic Club: Olympic Opening Ceremonies

As August 5th, 2016 was to be the date of the 2016 Olympic opening Ceremonies, New York Athletic Clubs' director of communications, James O' Brien, was dispatched to Rio de Janeiro to cover this event. Our brief was to connect James via SKYPE live to the select audience present. NYAC also produced a video specifically for this event covering the history of thier Atheletes where present to compete in and of course live coverage of the event itself via NBC.com. Moore PA Hire provided a full Audio Visual package for this event and also Patriotic up-lighting. The SKYPE connection enabled a live 2-way conversation between an interviewer in NYC and james in Rio
All sound was controlled by our Yamaha QL1  digital sound console and evenly distributed around the venue using our L'Acoustics 8XT and L'Acoustics LA-8 controlled amplifier.  For the video, the content consisted of a custom video, a live video feed from a commercial TV station and also the special feature of a live 2 way conversation from the Olympic Press center to, and from, the NYAC via SKYPE using two of our Macbook pro computers. The combination of this content was controlled using our Roland VR50 HD AV mixer and displayed on a combination of AV Stumpfl projection screen with an Ultra-Short throw projector as well as (2) 70" LCD displays.
For lighting we used our Philips ColorBlast TRX  set in color changing mode to display a dynamic combination of patriotic red, white and blue.

Please take a moment and have a look at some pictures of the event below.
